BEFORE WE BUILD

Good questions.
Clear next steps.

What to send, what to expect and how to get your project moving.

YOUR FIRST MESSAGE

Give us the starting point.

  • The job: what you want made, fitted, repaired or restored.
  • The place: your town and where the work or piece will go.
  • The details: approximate dimensions, quantity and materials.
  • The plan: preferred timing and a budget if you have one.
  • The references: photos, a sketch or inspiration to attach to your email.

A rough idea is enough to start a conversation.

Talk through your project ↗
What can I ask For Ward to build?

Custom woodworking, cabinets, shelving and storage, finish woodwork, custom craft and made-to-spec items are all starting points. We also discuss flooring, home repairs, restoration and renovation projects. Have an idea you don’t see listed? Tell Mike what you need and how it will be used so he can discuss whether the project is a fit.

What should I send for an estimate?

Start with a short description, your town, approximate dimensions, quantity and preferred timing. Photos of the space or existing piece and a sketch or inspiration image help explain the job. If you have a budget in mind, include it so the conversation can stay practical. You can attach photos when sending your inquiry email.

Do I need finished plans or exact measurements?

You can start with a rough idea. Approximate measurements help with the first conversation; final dimensions, design and installation requirements need to be confirmed before work is agreed. Note doors, corners, appliances or other obstacles that affect the fit.

Where do you work?

For Ward Enterprise is based in Illinois. Include your town and whether the work is at your property or is a piece to be made. Mike will confirm whether the location and project can be accommodated. Pickup, delivery and on-site arrangements are discussed for each job.

How is pricing worked out?

Pricing depends on the scope, measurements, materials, finish, quantity and any installation or delivery needs. Discuss the details with Mike for a project-specific estimate. The work, price, schedule and any payment arrangements are agreed directly before starting.

How soon can my project be ready?

Timing depends on the design, materials and current workload. Include your preferred date or event deadline in your inquiry. Mike will discuss availability with you; sending an inquiry does not book a start date. Expect an initial response within 24 hours, often the same day. Manufacturing inquiries with a phone number receive a same-day callback.

Can I choose the materials, finish or hardware?

Share your preferences and how the piece will be used. For cabinets, include storage needs, door style and hardware ideas. For flooring, include the material you have in mind and the existing floor’s condition. Materials and finishes are discussed as part of the scope; availability and suitability are confirmed for your project.

Can you repair or restore something I already own?

Send photos, describe the condition and explain what you want to keep or change. Mike can discuss the repair or restoration approach and whether it suits the piece. The condition of the existing material can affect the work involved.

How do 2027 cedar planter preorders work?

Use the cedar planter preorder form to share quantity, preferred size, location and timing. It is a request to discuss an order, with no online payment and no automatic production reservation. Mike confirms the design, price and schedule with you before an order is agreed.

What should I consider for a cedar planter?

Think about the space available, what you want to grow, planter depth, drainage, placement and access for moving it. Tell Mike if it will sit on a deck or balcony, or if you have liner, finish or planting requirements. The final design and any placement constraints should be discussed before building.

How do I request a change to a project?

Contact Mike as soon as you can. Changes to dimensions, materials, finish or scope can affect price and timing, especially after materials are ordered or work begins. Discuss and agree any revised work before proceeding.

Where can I leave feedback or ask for help?

Use the customer feedback page to leave comments and a rating from one to five stars. Feedback is reviewed and is not automatically published. For a question about current work or a concern that needs a reply, contact Mike directly at forwardc0444@yahoo.com.
